Who We Are:

A group of friends who believe that, in our own small way, we can make a difference to the Filipino people. Most especially to the least fortunate of us, the orphaned, neglected, abused and abandoned children. It is our vision to instill in these children the spiritual values that they will need for life's journey. Their spirituality will govern the development of their heart, mind and body.

To mother earth and all the other species in this planet we promise to respect the environment. To our fellow humans we vow to be more responsible and sensitive.

Our Mission:

To establish and run an orphanage for the street children of Negros Occidental.
To provide for the education of the orphans by establishing an elementary and high school.
To develop sustainable energy resource related livelihood projects that will sustain the running of the orphanage.
To develop electrical and water supply infrastructure for off-grid and missionary areas that will benefit the local residents. The infrastructure will employ renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power.
To cooperate with other organizations with similar aims.

Finishing Touches

We are nearing the completion of the Halfway House! We thank Danilo Doctora for giving his time and effort in managing the construction. All pro bono!

His expertise in the industry has been instrumental in the rapid progress. Our US donors have been looking forward to the weekly updates.

Our gratitude and thanks to the lastest round of donors. The $20,000 they have remitted through PhilDev will provide more than enough resource to complete the Villa Angela Halfway house.

With the halfway house completed, we can now begin again to concentrate on getting the PCNC certification!

Villa Angela Construction Target Completion - 2/29/2102

The Villa Angela facility is more than half-way finished. We will be completing the installation of the roof in 2 weeks. Painting, flooring and finishing is next.

We are indeed excited to see the facility completed after more than 2 years of challenges.

With the help of our new donors for 2012, we will have raised enough funds to complete construction of the main building plus a bamboo house. The bamboo house will be the model from which the main facility in Prosperidad will be patterned after.

Villa Angela Facility Under Construction

We are on the 4th week of the Villa Angela Facility construction. We are targetting to get this done by December 2011.

We are still php1.5m short of the budget of php4.5m. Our challenge is getting the PCNC certification so that we can continue to channel donations through Ayala Foundation International.

Joel Diaz & Reuben Ledesma are working hard to get the PCNC ceritification. Target date to submit the documents to PCNC is September 15, 2011.

Deep Well Project Underway

We have started - maybe re-started is a better word - the deep well project in abot-langit, San Carlos. Joel Diaz is managing the dig.

We are hoping to find an aquifer between 200 to 300 feet down. The well will provide all the water needs of the future hydroponics farm and main orphanage.

Projected project completion is June 1, 2011. By this time we should have tapped the aquifer and made permanent structures for the water supply system.

Right after the deep well project, we will start the construction of the halfway house in Villa Angela.

Fund Raising Campaign

To date we have raised $40k for the construction of the halfway house in Bacolod City. We are short $60k of the needed $100k to complete the project.

Estela Mason of California, USA has extended her selfless assistance in the fund raising effort. Estela and Reuben Ledesma have been instrumental in helping raise funds for the orphanage.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Estela and Reuben.

We also thank our newest donor John Liao of Capital Group Companies, California, USA.

Orphanage Halfway House Fence Started

We have started building the fence around the halfway house. This is inspite the fact that the Villa Angela Developer has continued to deny issuance of the building permit. We hope that the fence will showcase usage of bamboo as a beautiful, sturdy and sustainable resource. We have posted pictures of the work going on in building the fence. Check it out.
